rovell watt

Today, ESPN business reporter Darren Rovell worked out with J.J. Watt, in possibly the biggest sporting mismatch since the U.S. vs. Angola.

You can see Rovell in all his athletic glory on Periscope, but we’re going to call your attention to this short clip posted by ESPN:

There’s a lot to enjoy here, from Rovell screaming like a lunatic while trying to flip a tire to Rovell screaming like even more of a lunatic after successfully flipping a tire, but the star of the show here is Watt, who lands some great zingers on the ever-tweeting Rovell.

First, Watt warns that, “I am making Darren Rovell put his phone down for one second in the workout, until he flips a tire.” Then, after Rovell’s tire-flipping triumph, Watt tells him, “Now go back to business tweeting, quick, quick, quick.”

Who knew Captain America J.J. Watt had jokes?!

Anyway, this workout may not match George Plimpton when it comes to participatory journalism, but at least it’s better than this!
