in Game Four of the Eastern Conference First Round during the 2016 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at the Barclays Center on April 20, 2016 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City.

The Florida Panthers eked out a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders in Game 4 of their NHL Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series evening things at 2-2. While the win was pretty sweet for the Panthers who return home for Game 5, it turned out to be a wet victory for their TV announcers, Steve Goldstein and Dennis Potvin. They apparently got doused from a beer by an Islanders fan right after the final buzzer sounded and Goldstein mentioned the incident on Fox Sports Florida:

Goldstein said, “Some moron Islanders fan who threw some beer or soda down on us … very classy … but that’s o.k. because the Panthers are heading home ..”

And what’s worse is that Potvin is an Islanders legend having been a part of their four Stanley Cup Championship teams back in the 1980’s. Apparently whoever dumped that beer on Goldstein and Potvin didn’t realize who was being doused.

Goldstein himself did reference it briefly on Twitter:

Let’s hope the Panthers fans don’t reciprocate on Islanders voices Howie Rose and Butch Goring.
