Sports radio listeners have been eagerly-anticipating the announced day when Bill Simmons would co-host Mike Francesa’s “Mike’s On” WFAN show and now they know exactly which day to clear their calendars: Monday, May 16.

It will be Simmons’ first trip back to the studio since appearing as a guest in October. It was then that Francesa revealed he had asked Simmons to potentially join his show after Chris “Mad Dog” Russo left WFAN.

Could this be the beginning of some kind of arrangement between the two notable sports personalities? Simmons already has a lot on his plate with an HBO show, a new site, and a podcast of his own. It’s hard to believe he’d add a daily five-hour radio program into the mix as well. Still, it could be the beginning of a series of co-hosting spots across the year.

One thing we can be sure of…ESPN will be a topic of discussion and Simmons will have a lot of to say on the matter.
