The greatest revelation of the 2015 NFL season has been in Charlotte.  No, it’s not the Carolina Panthers standing tall as the last unbeaten team in the league this season.  That would be too easy!  You have to go up to the press box to find the real darlings of this NFL campaign, specifically, the Panthers’ Spanish language radio team.  Because if there’s anyone who deserves to beat out Cam Newton for the MVP award this year, it’s Spanish broadcasters Jaime Moreno and Luis Moreno Jr.

The Morenos have been announcing Panthers games for six years, but their excitable and energetic calls have gained widespread viral fame and acclaim as Carolina has kept racking up wins.  Imagine these awesome announcing soundbytes as the La Liga equivalent of what Barcelona and Real Madrid fans must imagine every time they hear Ray Hudson’s euphoria describing a Lionel Messi golazo.

The Charlotte Observer did a pretty cool video short with Moreno & Moreno earlier this season where you can learn more about the pair and their work.  Watch that and then enjoy some of their most famous calls from this unforgettable Panthers season…

Week 2 – Cam Newton Flip TD vs Houston

Week 3 – Josh Norman Game-Winning INT vs New Orleans

Week 4 – Ed Dickson Fumble Recovery TD vs Tampa Bay

Week 8 – Graham Gano Game-Winning FG vs Indianapolis

Week 11 – Greg Olsen TD vs Washington

Week 12 – Luke Kuechly Pick 6 vs Dallas

The Panthers’ Spanish radio broadcasts can be found all over the Carolinas, but for the rest of us around the country our only hope is that they can make a deep run in the postseason so can we be treated to more of these amazing announcing soundbytes.
