Despite multiple articles online (including ours) on Fox Sports’ tour bus outfitted in khakis to promote the network’s college football opener featuring Michigan and noted khakis-wearing head coach Jim Harbaugh, perhaps you thought that such a vehicle couldn’t possibly be real.

Really? A bus wrapped in actual fabric to look like Harbaugh’s sideline ensemble? Don’t occupy our treasured leisure time with such absurdity.

Oh, it’s real. It’s happening. And that khaki bus is on the move, leaving its undisclosed location for its debut in Ann Arbor this weekend, on Aug. 22. Fox Sports posted actual video proof of the existence of what many are calling The Harbus. Check it out.

Wow, Fox Sports was not kidding. That is a tour bus outfitted in fabric — 1,300 square feet of it, according to the network. Sewing that fabric together required 1,100 feet of thread. Six gallons of adhesive were needed to stick it to the bus. And 211 man hours were devoted to making this thing a reality.

Can we still be skeptical that this bus isn’t a CGI creation, though? I mean, there are no people visible in the video, just scenery. Let’s see someone at least lean up against it. I get that Fox Sports wants to preserve an up-close experience for fans who see the bus if and when it visits their town, and maybe have something saved for their pregame coverage as well. But a kernel of doubt remains.

However, the bus does appears to be real and the Fox Sports 1 Opening Drive Tour begins in Ann Arbor and Detroit. From there, it goes to Chicago, then Cincinnati, before making a stop in New York. The tour then proceeds to Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas and St. Louis, before reaching its final destination in Salt Lake City for the game between Utah and Michigan on Sept. 3.

We’ll see if those whistles and Sharpies don’t end up in somebody’s dorm room or apartment by the time the tour is finished.
