While US Women’s National Team star Christen Press is away playing with the team, Fox Sports’ @TheBuzzer digital platform will be temporarily replacing her with another familiar face to fans of the US national teams – former USMNT midfielder and current Fox soccer analyst Stuart Holden.
The video series has been a smash hit for Fox Sports, and has been thriving on Facebook over the past year. Holden is no stranger to Fox’s airwaves, as he’s been a part of their soccer coverage throughout this year, and joining @TheBuzzer will give him something to do in between Fox’s coverage of the Bundesliga, Champions League, and MLS.
As a young former pro athlete, Holden should add a unique element to @TheBuzzer, much as Press has as a young active pro athlete. He’ll be able to show off his personality a bit more in a less-crowded situation, and won’t be confined to the X’s and O’s that working as an analyst usually encompasses. Seems like a decent enough way to further one’s career.
