Paul Finebaum

Only two weeks into the college football season, some of the SEC versus the rest of the world tensions are flaring up again, and unsurprisingly, Paul Finebaum is at the centre. The controversial ESPN and SEC Network host called Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops “irrelevant”  ahead of Saturday’s game with Tennessee, and after the Sooners won, Stoops shot back in his Monday press conference:

“I don’t care,” Stoops said. “He doesn’t deserve that attention from me. The bottom line is ask Tennessee and their 105,000 people if we’re relevant or not. And a few other teams in the last couple years. Doesn’t matter.

“And he’s getting paid to promote a league. That’s what he does. That’s OK. Everyone has to earn their money one way or the other.”

Bob’s brother Mike, the Sooners’ defensive coordinator, also had some harsh words for Finebaum:

For his part, though, at least Finebaum responded well with his choice of attire on his show Monday:
