Another week, another NCAA officiating controversy.

A week after the ACC suspended an entire officiating crew for botching the end of the Miami-Duke game, this time a terrible call had an impact on the College Football Playoff chase.  The undefeated Michigan State Spartans drew the short straw when Nebraska’s winning touchdown in the closing seconds was allowed to stand after the receiver ran out of bounds.  The officials called it a force out and counted the score even though the Michigan State defender had his back turned and didn’t lay a hand on the Nebraska player.

In reacting to the play, former Spartan wide receiver and longtime NFL veteran Plaxico Burress… well, let’s just say he did not handle it so well.  Here is his Twitter timeline in reverse chronological order from last night..

Plaxico may be right to be angry over the ending, but I guess you could say Michigan State shot themselves in the leg in allowing themselves to even be in that position in the first place, right?
