Tragic news out of suburban Houston today – MLB Network analyst Darryl Hamilton was found dead at his home on Sunday afternoon, the victim of an apparent murder-suicide.

Some of the details from the Houston Chronicle

Police said officers were sent to the home on an emergency call about a disturbance. When they arrived, they found the body of Darryl Hamilton, 50, near the front entry way. The body of Monica Jordan, 44, was found in another part of the home.

Investigators said it appeared Hamilton had been shot more than once and Jordan died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The couple’s 14 month old daughter was found unharmed in the house.

Hamilton joined MLB Network in 2013 after previously working for the MLB Commissioner’s Office, MLB Radio, Compass Media, and the Milwaukee Brewers. He played 13 years in the majors, mainly with the Brewers.

This is just heart-wrenching stuff, and our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues.
