A year ago yesterday ESPN officially rebranded Numbers Never Lie to His & Hers with Jemele Hill and Michael Smith, naming their ESPN2 morning show after their podcast of the same name.

While most shows might commemorate their first anniversary with a video montage or a small homage to the work they had done, Smith and Hill went in a totally unique, totally unbelievable, totally incredible direction.

They made a Step Brothers parody.

Step Brothers is not the easiest thing to try to parody, as it’s a movie that tends to go towards the extreme end of the Will Ferrell comedy collection.  You either get that kind of humor about two grown men acting like small children and ruining the lives of everyone around them because of their idiocy… or you don’t.  Somehow, Hill and Smith pulled off the deadpan of Ferrell and John C. Reilly amazingly well.  And how about that guest appearance by Scott Van Pelt!

I had no idea these two had this in them, so hopefully for the second anniversary of His & Hers they go full length feature film and make a proper Anchorman sequel or something.  You know, one that’s actually watchable.
