The Boston Celtics-Los Angeles Lakers rivalry has been one of the cornerstones of the NBA especially in the 1980’s when they met in the Finals three times in the decade. You would not be surprised that the players from that era still hold the rivalry to the vest. That goes especially for James Worthy, an integral part of the Showtime teams that won five championships in the decade.

Worthy is now a studio analyst for Time Warner Cable SportsNet as well as being a Lakers assistant coach. He was thrilled to see the Lakers win in Boston which was also Kobe Bryant’s last game in the city. So during the postgame show, Worthy yelled the only thing he felt appropriate:

If your team is the hammer and the Celtics are the nail in the storied rivalry, you have total reason to crow. Imagine if the Lakers had lost in Kobe’s last game in Boston how Worthy might have reacted.
