As Hard Knocks goes into its 10th season on HBO, the Texans which were 9-7 last season, NFL Films will focus on how the team will prepare for the 2015 regular season. One thing that the series likes is charisma and the producers have that in the larger-than-life J.J. Watt. And with incoming defensive lineman Vince Wilfork coming over from the New England Patriots, there’s another personality who will bring some chutzpah to the show (and his wife is a reality TV character in the making).

Last season, Hard Knocks focused on the Atlanta Falcons and after a promising first episode, the series lagged. Whether it was the lack of personalities or the team itself, last season’s series wasn’t as compelling as in previous years. However, with head coach Bill O’Brien and some assistant coaches who are media friendly, the Texans have the potential to be good.

Since teams started running away from being on Hard Knocks, the NFL has stepped in and made selections for them as a way to keep the show going. One potential candidate for this year was Washington, but the league went with Houston instead.

NFL Films will start filming at the Texans’ training camp in July and the show will premiere in the first weeks of August and run throughout the preseason.

HBO and the NFL should make an official announcement on the Texans on Hard Knocks soon.
