CityNews reporter Shauna Hunt was tired of people shouting vulgarities on live television and decided to do something.

Hunt, who was outside of a Toronto FC game, had the camera rolling when a group of men yelled, “f— her right in the p—-.” This has been one of the dumbest viral trends that has popped up everywhere from ESPN to CNN during the protests in Baltimore. The original videos that inspired the moronic comments turned out to be a hoax.

Frustrated with people interrupting her, she stopped her interview in progress and went right to the guilty party and confronted them about their disgusting behavior. The responses were gross, specifically those by a man who laughed the whole time and said ‘it was f—ing hilarious,” and that “my mom would die laughing,” about the remarks.

Here’s an extended segment from CityNews with Hunt about the confrontation:

I don’t think his mother would be laughing now, because that man, Shawn Simoes, is in serious trouble. His employer Hydro One caught wind of his comments and fired him immediately. Simoes, comments cost him his over $100,000 a year in salary, as he was previously employed as an assistant network management engineer.

Here’s what Hydro One said about the incident.

“Regarding the incident at the Toronto FC game between a (CityNews) reporter and fans, Hydro One is taking steps to terminate the employee involved for violating our Code of Conduct,” said Daffyd Roderick, director, corporate affairs for Hydro One.

Additionally, Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment, who owns Toronto FC among many other sports franchises, has banned the fans that took part of the incident for “at least” one year.

MLSE released an official statement addressing how the company plans to provide additional security to female reporters during events.

Comments by these fans are sexual harassment. Props to Shauna Hunt for standing her ground and confronting these guys, nobody should have to face that kind of bother.

Hopefully people understand there are repercussions to their vile actions, and this is the last time we see something like this happen.
