This Wednesday, the United States Men’s National Team takes on Mexico in their final friendly for two months. Fox Sports 1 will air the match, and with the game taking place stateside in San Antonio, they’re bringing some of their top talent to the table.

The coverage begins with the Champions League quarterfinals on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Tuesday’s Madrid Derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid airing on Fox Sports 1. Rob Stone anchors the coverage, and is joined by Alexi Lalas, Eric Wynalda, and Warren Barton on-site in San Antonio. The same crew will cover Wednesday’s quarterfinals, highlighted by Barcelona-PSG air on Fox Sports 1.

Wednesday’s coverage of the friendly itself is loaded with top-tier Fox talent. Fox’s top MLS crew of John Strong and Lalas will call the game, with Julie Stewart-Binks serving as the sideline reporter. Stone once again will anchor the pregame show, joined by Wynalda, Stu Holden, and current Seattle Sounder (and former Mexican National Team) midfielder Gonzalo Pineda. The pregame show begins at 8 PM, an hour before match time.

Fox Soccer has been slammed in the past for some of the things they’ve done covering soccer, with their method of having commentators calling some matches in the studio coming under the most fire. But when Fox decides to go all-out, they deserve some credit, and that’s exactly what will be happening next week. This will also be a crazy week for Strong, Lalas, and Stewart-Binks, who will work the Galaxy-Sounders match on the 12th in Los Angeles, this friendly in San Antonio on the 15th, and the NYCFC-Timbers match from Yankee Stadium on the 19th. At least Galaxy-Sounders isn’t taking place in Seattle…the trio would have really racked up the frequent flyer miles otherwise.
