ESPN Radio has a hole in its daily weekday lineup with Colin Cowherd moving on to new endeavors (widely reported to be Fox Sports). Even though he was pushed out the door earlier than planned after making controversial remarks on the air, Cowherd’s tenure with ESPN was set to end on July 31 anyway, which gave the network a gap to fill during August.

Here is how ESPN Radio intends to fill the 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET slot in its schedule for the next month. (Steve Mason and John Ireland from ESPN LA 710 have been subbing in Cowherd’s former spot this week.) Three different teams will broadcast during that period, two of whom already have shows on ESPN Radio affiliates.

During the first week of August (beginning Aug. 3), Max Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley will follow Mike & Mike for that late-morning/early-afternoon part of the ESPN Radio day.  The two already host an afternoon drive-time show in Los Angeles called Max & Marcellus on ESPN LA 710. Of course, the pair also appears during the week on SportsNation, seen on ESPN2.

For the next two weeks (beginning Aug. 10 and 17), Michelle Beadle will co-host from Los Angeles with Ben Lyons of ESPN LA and The Players Tribune.

Closing out August in the 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET slot will be Tom Waddle and Mark Silverman, who host Waddle & Silvy on ESPN 1000 in Chicago from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. CT.

“ESPN Radio has an extensive pool of talent from our national network, local stations and ESPN television,” said David Roberts, ESPN vice president, network audio content in an official release. “We’re excited to take advantage of this opportunity to give national radio exposure to our local hosts.”
