ESPN’s on-site coverage of Super Bowl 49 begins on Monday, and as expected, the Worldwide Leader is going all-out with programming, even though they’re not airing the game. Live from Scottsdale, ESPN will air 130 hours of live TV and radio programming, starting at 6 AM ET on Monday.

Several ESPN shows will be heading on the road to Arizona, including SportsCenter, NFL Insiders, NFL Live, PTI, and First Take. Daily radio shows Mike & Mike, The Herd, SVP & Russillo, and Sedano & Stink will also air live from Scottsdale. ESPN’s New York radio affiliate, 98.7 FM, will also broadcast 30 hours of content from Scottsdale. Both Mike Lupica and Michael Kay will be on-site in Arizona for their shows.

The only day of Super Bowl week that isn’t packed with coverage is Saturday, which only features five hours of live SportsCenter from Arizona. Monday through Friday all feature at least 18 hours of live TV coverage (including radio simulcasts), while Sunday spotlights three and a half hours of SportsCenter, five hours of live NFL studio coverage, and a half hour edition of The Sports Reporters from Arizona.

We didn’t really expect much different from ESPN, but the sheer amount of content is staggering. Quick note for any NBA or MLB teams that wants to get some airtime this week – hold off on doing anything interesting until the first week of February.
