In a rare instance of a network profiling someone from another outlet, ESPN’s E:60 will air a profile tonight on Turner Sports’ Ernie Johnson. This will not be just your regular run-of-the-mill profile which goes into EJ’s career highlights.

Tonight’s airing will the first of two parts on the Inside the NBA and NCAA Final Four host. The profile will be lead by Jeremy Schaap and will give viewers insight on Johnson’s very public battle with cancer, his father, Ernie Johnson, Sr. who was originally with the Braves organization as a player then as a broadcaster plus a look at Johnson’s family life which includes the adoption of four children, one with muscular dystrophy.

From the trailer that’s been released by ESPN, it appears the profile will provide us with a look at EJ’s early days in Atlanta and that alone could make this installment one to watch. Here’s the preview:

This certainly looks like it will be worth your time. E:60 premieres tonight at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. Part two of the profile will air next week on E:60.
