Chris “Mad Dog” Russo has really been living up to that moniker with his scorching takes on DeflateGate, condemning Tom Brady and the Patriots organization, and even Brady’s dad!
On yesterday’s Mad Dog Radio, he took aim at another target closely associated with the NFL – Peter King.
Doggie and King had quite the heated exchange surrounding DeflateGate that you can hear below with Russo questioning King’s non-committal on Brady’s guilt and King criticizing Russo for not reading the Wells Report in full…
That’s just fantastic. Chris Russo vs Peter King is a combination I never would have dreamed of for a great sports debate, but there are SO MANY HIGHLIGHTS here that crystalize the idiosyncrasies of both men that it’s one of my favorite radio clips of the year. Among them…
1) Russo continuing to call Peter King “Pete.”
2) King: “You should have read this report.” Russo: “I disagree.”
3) Peter King citing the Ideal Gas Law like he’s Bill Nye.
4) Russo accusing King of being soft on Brady to protect his access, which just about symbolizes every criticism of King.
5) King’s absolute refusal to actually state an opinion on whether or not Brady tampered with the footballs.
6) Russo admitting that he’s being irresponsible in not reading the report minutes after saying he didn’t need to read it.
7) “THIS IS NOT A JURY, PETE!”
8) Why can’t every sports debate end with an “I love you?” We’d all be much happier and less stressed out that way.
