In today’s sports world, every professional team has a Twitter page, Instagram and so on. Social media is the order of the day, and the Arizona Cardinals are no exception. The team tweeted throughout Saturday’s Wild Card playoff game against the Carolina Panthers, which Arizona lost 27-16.

The contest was ugly for the Cardinals, who were playing a third-string quarterback in Ryan Lindley. The result was not only defeat, but a postseason record for futility with 78 total yards. Afterwards, fans were predictably unhappy, with the anger spilling over to Twitter. As it turns out, the Cardinals were having none of it.

You have to wonder who was behind the keyboard for the Cardinals when this bad boy got sent. The tweet is fantastic because it is likely something everybody in a public position wants to say, but never does because of potential repercussions. Arizona’s man at the controls had no such reservations, calling people “clowns” and telling them to “move out of the basement.”

To be fair, the Cardinals fans have more right than most to be furious. In 95 seasons, the franchise has only enjoyed a postseason trip nine times and has not won an NFL championship since 1947, when they were the Chicago Cardinals. It’s been a rough journey, and it appears the Ryan Lindley Experience pushed them over the edge.
