The Masters and springtime at Augusta is right around the corner.  Already your hearts should be aflutter at the prospects of Jim Nantz and his silky smooth baritone waxing poetically about azaleas and patrons and Amen Corner.  Yes, it’s easy to poke fun at, but it’s also legitimately one of my favorite sports events and productions of the year.

Will Ferrell is also a huge fan of The Masters and Jim Nantz.  He taped this deadpan comedy video for Golf.com speaking of his love for the CBS play by play man and his melodic prose.  You laugh, but a relaxation tape of Jim Nantz Masters intros is great for reducing your stress levels.  Don’t knock it until you try it.

But Jim Nantz isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.  If there was another option out there to call The Masters, why not Ryan Seacrest?  Couldn’t you picture him in historic Butler Cabin for those delightfully staged interviews?  If there was any way for The Masters to reach out to popular culture and ditch its stodgy, stiff, archaic perception, it would be to turn the tournament into a reality show.

My educated guess is that we’ll see the accordion music before Ryan Seacrest at The Masters.
