We’ve chronicled how Vin Scully is a true national treasure and this season proves that the Great One continues to have his fastball well into his 80’s.

On Friday, we told you how Vin described a random bird pooping on St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Metheny led him down his current life path. Now we have the latest where Scully described a Dodger prank as it was happening in real time.

Scott Van Slyke was the victim of a hot foot and his teammates worked in sync to make sure it went off. Pitcher Josh Beckett stuck the gum and cigarettes in place on Van Slyke’s shoe, first baseman Adrian Gonzalez lit it and then Scully was there to provide the play-by-play and laughter ensued.

Tremendous. Just tremendous.
