Imagine you’ve just gotten married and you’re at the reception. Your lovely bride announces she’s put together a surprise video to show to the entire gathering. And you begin to sweat fearing it could be pictures of when you were a kid or those silly drunken college days. But instead, it’s your favorite sports show analyzing your wedding.

That’s exactly what happened to David Jones last week. His bride, Julie-Ann Coleman managed to get Ireland’s RTÉ Sports to use its soccer panel of Bill O’Herlihy, John Giles, Liam Brady and Eamon Dunphy to give their “post-match” analysis of David and Julie-Ann’s nuptials as if they were talking about the World Cup.

After a brief introduction from Julie-Ann, the video starts up with the RTÉ theme and in comes the panel!

Using lines like “taking a big chance,” “She’s a smasher,” “I’m not sure about that boy” and “the marriage mightn’t last that long,” the panel got a lot of laughs from the newly married couple and the people in the wedding hall.

Now if ESPN could rent out its Sunday NFL Countdown panel to do post-match wedding videos. Seeing Chris Berman, Cris Carter, Mike Ditka, Keyshawn Johnson and Tom Jackson on the big screen might give the groom palpitations.

But this video brings to mind of the bride who surprised her new husband with a chorus singing the Champions League theme.
