While the numerous ESPNs, Fox Sports 1, and NBC Sports Network get most of our headlines, CBS Sports Network continues to build itself up and grow slowly, and mostly out of the limelight. They have the rights to much of the Mountain West Conference’s football schedule, as well as all three of the service academies. With the network broadcasting one of the biggest college football programs in the country, their lead college football team will get the assignment.

Ohio State will head to Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium on August 30th to take on Navy. The Noon ET kickoff on CBS Sports Network will be the first game of the season for CBS’ lead college football team of Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson and Allie LaForce. The game marks the first time that Lundquist and Danielson will broadcast a game on CBSSN, which was renamed from CBS College Sports Network in April of 2011.

The game will be part of a day-night doubleheader for the network, with Washington-Hawaii at 8 p.m. ET. CBSSN leads off the season with games on the opening Thursday (Tulane-Tulsa) and Friday (Bowling Green-Western Kentucky) nights. But with an early chance to see Uncle Verne and Gary, CBSSN will have the added buzz to go along with Ohio State playing in an NFL stadium.
