A mini-firestorm emerged this week when Golf Digest put “golf celebrity” Paulina Gretzky on the cover in a revealing outfit for their fitness issue.  The cover was controversial because Golf Digest hasn’t featured an LPGA pro for six years and top female golfers were right to feel insulted.

If Golf Digest is going to feature Paulina Gretzky, where do we draw the line with magazine covers and relevance to the topic at hand?  Orlando photographer Cy Cyr had some fun with Gretzky’s pose and created this phenomenal image of men standing in her place… sports bra, yoga pants, and all.  He wrote on his website:

Photographer Walter Iooss is my photography idol.   His recent Paulina Gretzky golf cover sparked nationwide interest in Golf Digest this week.  And well… I have a sense of humor and called a few friends.

If Golf Digest and other sports magazines are really concerned about selling magazines, maybe this is the direction they should turn.  Seeing an elderly man in a sports bra and yoga pants on the cover of a magazine would definitely turn their heads.

Oh, and here’s the picture that will surely be seared into your brain.  Eat your heart out Paulina…
