When Tim Brando and CBS parted ways, we predicted that there was one logical landing place for the veteran studio host and play by play man – the new SEC Network.  Brando’s nationally syndicated SiriusXM radio show originates from Shreveport in the heart of SEC country and given his presence with the SEC on CBS, it would be a natural fit.

Now it looks like that move destined to happen will be taking place according to ESPN college football reporter extraordinaire Brett McMurphy…

It remains to be seen exactly what role Brando could fill with SEC Network.  Joe Tessitore has already been installed as the #1 studio host on Saturday mornings and Brent Musburger is the lead play by play man for college football.  Perhaps Brando will fill more of a utility role moving between the studio and the broadcast booth for football and basketball season.

Wherever Brando lands at SEC Network, he’s another great addition for the new network.  To see SEC Network land established, nationally respected voices like Brando, Musburger, and Tessitore right out of the gate is huge for them.  Of course, given ESPN’s massive financial and promotional backing, it’s not a surprise to see so many top names involved from the start.
