Fox broadcaster Tim Brando is a proud resident of Shreveport, Louisiana. Shreveport is the home of the Duck Commander Independence Bowl (boy, is that a mouthful), which will pit South Carolina against Miami on December 27th.
Apparently during the Paul Finebaum Show on Friday, one of Finebaum’s producers took some shots at the town. Brando was not pleased, and went on the warpath. It seems that the Shreveport bashing came about because of the simple fact that South Carolina was having issues selling tickets to the bowl.
South Carolina has sold 700 of its 8,000 Independence Bowl tickets. "It’s difficult for our fans. We understand that," AD Ray Tanner

And…boom goes the dynamite.
@finebaum layoff my hometown and tell your Producer to as well! It's this rhetoric that has no place in our Industry.SEC has a deal! Got it

Cheap shots against communities that have BOWL games has no place in Intercollegiate sports.Want me to talk about Bristol Ct.?Don't think so

— Tim Brando (@TimBrando) December 12, 2014

— Tim Brando (@TimBrando) December 12, 2014
Hurrying away from the incredibly horrid comments about Shreveport @finebaum now turns to a Sports Business guru to justify the criticism.
— Tim Brando (@TimBrando) December 12, 2014
Beneath contempt!
— Tim Brando (@TimBrando) December 12, 2014
Let's see ESPN owns the Bowl system. @finebaum works for them, but not selling tickets at S.Carolina is Shreveport (my homes) fault. Please!
— Tim Brando (@TimBrando) December 12, 2014
Moral of the story – if you’re a national radio host, don’t rip on Shreveport, because Tim Brando is out there listening and will come for you with the fire of a thousand suns.
