If you’re not familiar with The Cauldron, you can be forgiven. The site launched back in June with by New York Knicks beat writer Jamie O’Grady leading the way.

It has picked up several writers along the way including Tim Ryan of The Big Lead, Andy Glockner of SI.com (currently its Executive Editor), Jim Cavan of Grantland, Robin Lundberg of ESPN Radio New York, Lauren Brownlow and several others. The site’s mission is to provide storytelling along with original content and longform stories.

With Sports on Earth cutting of most of its staff earlier in the summer, the Cauldon has picked up multiple writers from that site including Howard Megdal and Wendy Thurm.

The Cauldron relaunched today with several new writers in tow including Selena Roberts, formerly of Sports Illustrated, Jeff Pearlman, Dirk Hayhurst and others.

Here is the staff as it stands currently.

Writers: Selena Roberts, Robert Silverman, Howard Megdal, Jim Cavan, Greg Hanlon, Jared Dubin, Josh Zerkle, Andy Kamenetzky, Brian Kamenetsky, Jesse Newell, Kevin McElroy, T.D. Williams, Blake Thomsen, Joseph Flynn, Steve McPherson

Contributors: Jeff Pearlman, Dirk Hayhurst, Robin Lundberg, Jon Bernhardt, Wendy Thurm, John Schmeelk, Neil DeMause, Susan Fornoff, Brian Geltzeiler, Lauren Brownlow

Awful Announcing has been told The Cauldron is negotiating to add more writers as well as some former coaches, players and executives to provide their analysis and thoughts.

In addition to the new staff, The Cauldron has been folded into Medium’s site and has picked up some much needed funding. With Sports on Earth in flux, perhaps the Cauldron can pick up the slack and provide readers with thoughtful original content.
