Move over Marcus Mariota, Amari Cooper, Bryce Petty. The people’s choice for the Heisman Trophy has never thrown a pass in college, he’s only punted for a stellar average of 42 yards-per-punt this season.

Texas A&M’s Drew Kaser is a Heisman frontrunner, at least in his mind.

With quarterback and teammate Kenny Hill getting all of the attention, Kaser took it upon himself to spread the word about how good he is, and how punters are indeed people too.

I’m not sure any of those people knew who has when he started talking to them, but they know now. And if they had votes, they would vote for Kaser.

He was up for the Ray Guy Award last year, one of the best dressed at SEC Media Days, and an All-American. He just needs the offense to get off the field more so he can pad his punting stats.

Do you think any punter will ever win the Heisman Trophy?

“If I don’t, I don’t think anyone else will.”
