The United States Men’s National Team hosted Azerbaijan in their first friendly to begin preparation for the 2014 World Cup.  The game was played in San Francisco, but that didn’t stop Stuart Scott from thinking the game and the ESPN crew were overseas.  Hey, Azerbaijan is lovely this time of year.

While he was setting up a joke about passports, Scott unwittingly pitched it to Bob Ley, who he thought was in Azerbaijan.  In reality, Ley was in the same ESPN studio as Scott in Bristol.  Ley’s segue was impressive:

Scott poked fun at it later in the show, hopefully when Ley popped into the SportsCenter studio from down the hall and informed him he was in fact not just on the same continent, but in the same building.  Although the thought of an ESPN Azerbaijan channel is quite interesting.
