Rule number one of Twitter: think before you tweet.

On Wednesday night, Cincinnati Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman was hit in the face with a line drive off the bat of Sal Perez of the Royals. Chapman was carted off the field, and the game was called. It was an absolutely terrifying incident, and one that really should have had everyone hoping for Chapman’s health.

Most everyone did – except for Spencer Davies, who lists himself in his Twitter bio as a freelance writer, a Fox Sports Ohio shadow, and an on-air personality at WZIP in Akron.

Davies tweeted this out before deleting it.

If the first thing you think of following a terrifying incident like that is KARMA, BABY!!!!, there is no amount of apologizing that you can do that will somehow make it better, although Davies did plenty of that afterwards.

By the way – Fox Sports Ohio owns the rights to Reds broadcasts as well as the Indians.
