One of the big innovations in recent years on football broadcasts has been the desire to show viewers the “all-22” camera. Made famous by shows like NFL Matchup and other film room-type series, the camera is high atop the stadium, able to capture the movements of all 22 players on the field. It’s of great use to coaches and wannabe coaches, which means it makes sense that it would become a live TV innovation at some point.

CBS has hopped on that bandwagon this year, giving iOS and Android subscribers to the CBS Sports app (or just those watching SEC Live on CBSSports.com) the ability to stream the all-22 along with the typical television angles. Not only can you get the typical game simulcast, you can pretend to be a coach and watch from the all-22, among various different angles.

“We’re excited to offer college football fans a complete second-screen experience for every SEC on CBS broadcast again this season,” said Jeffrey Gerttula, General Manager of CBSSports.com. “Viewers will be able to catch all the action through high-quality streams in a feature-rich, interactive environment across their computers, tablets, and mobile phones.”

BS also promises live stats, highlights and social media integration as well as polling within SEC Live. Hey, it may not be a new watch, but it’s pretty convenient for those more technologically-inclined SEC on CBS viewers.
