Today has been called the biggest day in the history of the Golf Channel.  The network is airing live Ryder Cup coverage after getting Day 1 rights from ESPN in a very interesting trade involving Michelle Beadle.

It should be a very exciting day for Golf Channel as they televise one of the most dramatic events in the sport.  The Ryder Cup is unlike anything in golf and is a unique television spectacle.  No doubt there were fans waking up in the middle of the night to catch the live coverage from Scotland.

What those fans found was commercial after commercial after commercial.  Enough commercials that Golf Channel’s mentions have been flooded with complaints since the wee hours of the morning that the advertisements have outnumbered the number of shots on display.

Commercials are a part of sports broadcasts.  Considering there are a limited number of golfers on the course, it would make sense that there would be less shots to display on the telecast.  But it’s unusual to see this many complaints, meaning the ads must be really over-the-top.  As always these are Real Tweets from Real People…
