This was the big one. The 18.6 rating for Broncos-Pats (with Raiders-Seahawks in a few markets) was CBS’s third best since they first won the rights to the AFC package. It was up 20 percent from Steelers-Patriots in that window last season.

Locally, Boston hit a season high (the previous high was a 36.2, so they blew it out of the water) while both Denver and Seattle hit their second-highest ratings of the season. The Raiders, faced with head-to-head competition with the 49ers, hit a season low.

Ravens-Steelers still has some juice in its rivalry: despite a blowout game, Baltimore-Pittsburgh drew an 11.9 rating, up four percent from Colts-Texans last year. Pittsburgh hit a season-high rating, while Baltimore drew its highest rating since the earlier game this season against the Steelers.
