Thursday Night Football

This year, Thursday Night Football will be a joint venture between CBS and NFL Network, and both networks will be heavily represented on pre- and post-game sets each week.

CBS Sports confirmed in a press release Monday that they’d have two separate sets for TNF pregame coverage, which will begin on NFLN at 6 p.m. ET every Thursday, with CBS’s simulcast kicking in at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Set 1 will contain James Brown, Deion Sanders and Bill Cowher, while an additional set will have Rich Eisen, Michael Irvin, Marshall Faulk and Steve Mariucci. So basically it’s JB, “Coach Cowher,” and a bunch of NFLN regulars.

Eisen and his team will be outside the stadium for the first 90 minutes on NFLN. Brown, Sanders and Cowher will be inside the venue at 7:30 ET. That trio will also handle the halftime show, but the two separate sets will also make appearances during one another’s time slot.

NFLN employees Eisen, Irvin, Faulk, Mariucci and Sanders will handle the post-game show on both networks, reprising their respective roles on the same program from previous seasons in which NFLN was the sole carrier of TNF games.
