A couple weeks ago Fox Sports 1 announced a big adjustment to their weekday lineup.  The football-specific Fox Football Daily was thrown in the dustbin and replaced with America’s Pregame at 6 PM ET.  It comes at a time when FS1 is firmly in tinkering mode by making several lineup and talent changes with their network at the seven month mark.

Former ESPNer Mike Hill was announced as host of the show and now we know another person that will be joining him.  Molly McGrath has been named as the news anchor of America’s Pregame.  McGrath has served mostly on updates throughout the day since the launch of FS1.  She came to Fox from the Boston Celtics where she served as a reporter and in-arena host.

It’s going to be interesting to see what shape America’s Pregame takes and how much of an alternative it will be from the 6 PM ET SportsCenter.  Fox has taken another subtle shot at ESPN by saying it’ll cover the major games and stories of the day “no matter which network is televising it.”

By casting a wider net in the early evening, Fox Sports 1 will hope to improve on the ratings of Fox Football Daily.  Whether or not those ratings will lead America’s Pregame to last longer than its predecessor will be the true test.
