Justin Halpern is a fairly well-known writer, who’s Twitter feed and book, and eventual TV show, Shit My Dad Says has brought him deserving renown (well, not the TV show) in internet circles. He recently created a show, Surviving Jack, that showed promise and was very funny, but didn’t survive past a season. He’s also a Grantland contributor.

That, unfortunately, makes his hilarious tweet — the photo of which you see above — newsworthy for us, because it gets into the very frayed history that Grantland and ESPN employees have had with regard to tweeting negatively about the Mothership. Of course, this mostly has to do with Grantland boss Bill Simmons. He‘s been suspended a couple times in the past over things that were critical of ESPN.

Of course, Halpern’s visual joke is very funny, and a cathartic break from the LeBron watch, which we’ve now done at least two posts on today ourselves. But we have to wonder if ESPN will lighten up for a change. Kudos especially for “One Baseball Highlight.”
