October is breast cancer awareness month where the worlds of sports and entertainment will go pink to support the cause.  On the first day of October, longtime ESPN reporter Shelley Smith revealed on Twitter that she has breast cancer.

Smith has been at ESPN since 1993 and full-time at the network since 1997.  In that span she’s won an Emmy, authored multiple books, and been a mainstay for the network. Our thoughts are with her as she begins this journey.
