ESPN MLB analyst Mark Mulder isn’t done yet. This spring, the former Athletics ace tore his Achilles tendon during a conditioning drill with the Angels, ending his comeback before it even began. But Mulder was throwing the ball well prior to the injury, and is planning another comeback.

I think Mulder is a rising star at ESPN, one of their better analysts that performs well both in the studio and while calling a game. But considering the way he went out six months ago, thanks to an injury that has nothing to do with his arm, I completely understand his desire to want to try one more comeback.

Mulder just turned 37, and while he’s old, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he could help a team for a year before hanging them up. I think it would be a great story if he made it back to the majors, and I hope he gets there – if only for just an inning.
