ESPN has reached a new deal to televise the CrossFit Games, beginning with an extensive schedule of coverage for the 2014 CrossFit Games. The network will provide more television coverage than ever before and will feature at least 46 hours of the CrossFit Games on ESPN3.

Todd Myers, ESPN’s Director of Programming & Acquisitions commented on the new agreement:

“We are excited to bring back the CrossFit Games to an ever-increasing fan base across ESPN platforms. With more hours than ever, we are dedicated to showcasing the world’s fittest athletes in this multi-year renewal.”

Given the huge surge in popularity in CrossFit over the last few years, ESPN made a wise decision to reach a new agreement to cover the Games. If you’re unfamiliar with the competition, the Games are the final stage of a season-long competition which originally started out with 209,000 competitors. That field was whittled down to the most fit male and female athletes who will have to compete in a variety of unknown workouts.
