After the news broke last week that Dish Network would not be offering WWE WrestleMania 30 next month, Dish has backpedaled on their stance, and will offer the show after all. However, following WrestleMania, Dish will be deciding which WWE PPVs to offer on an event-by-event basis. The following is a statement provided to Awful Announcing by a spokesperson from Dish.

DISH will offer WWE’s WrestleMania pay-per-view event, airing Sunday, April 6, on channel 455 and 456 in HD and SD, respectively. DISH will continue to evaluate future WWE pay-per-view events on an event-by-event basis.

Well, I guess that settles that. The point remains, though – picking and choosing which WWE PPVs to offer puts Dish at a competitive disadvantage compared to other providers. This is worth keeping an eye on over the next few months, and if Dish’s subscriber numbers drop, we’re going to wonder how much of that is because of angry WWE fans.
