As the SEC Network is readying for launch on August 14, we learn that 10-year ESPN vet Dari Nowkhah will become a full-time host on the channel. In addition, he’ll be the lead man on SEC Now, which will be the network’s signature nightly news program.

Since 2011, Nowkhah has been the main host on ESPNU and he’s been on ESPN Radio with Mel Kiper, Jr. on the Dari & Mel show.

Nowkhah is familiar to SEC fans having been on the syndicated SEC TV football and basketball packages, so hosting on the network won’t be a stretch for him.

One person who was speculated to join SEC Network, Tim Brando, went on Bruce Feldman’s podcast to explain why he chose to Fox Sports instead.

So as the network launch approaches, we’ll hear about more on-air hires.
