Back in February, Dallas sportscaster Dale Hansen spoke on Michael Sam, praising him for coming out and lambasting the mindset of Sam not being welcome because football is “a man’s game”, while players who actually committed crimes were welcome with open arms.

On Sunday, Hansen was at it again, hopping on the outrage wagon with others – but not because Sam is gay and kissed his boyfriend on national television. No, but because the SEC Defensive Player of the Year was taken in the seventh round, and that there were 248 players better than him. Hansen lauded the Rams for giving Sam a chance, and even took a couple of easy potshot at the Texas Longhorns along the way. Hansen’s newest essay is once again extremely well done, and his viewpoint in light of all of this faux outrage and controversy is one that stands strong.
