Former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Johnson might be saving his long-time club from a playoff blackout on Sunday against the Chargers. Cincinnati was one of three teams that faced a potential blackout of their divisional round matchup this weekend, and things are still looking bleak heading into the end of the week.
Thankfully, Johnson could be coming to the team's rescue, which he tweeted on Tuesday.
I'll get the rest RT @joereedy: Statement from #Bengals: “Unless the rate of daily sales increases — we will not achieve a sellout.

Of course, like with everything in life – there's another side to this story.
Johnson reportedly was shocked at how much helping the team avoid the blackout would cost, according to the team's Director of Sales and Bengals Public Affairs Jeff Berding. As of 5 PM on Wednesday night, 8,000 tickets still needed to be sold by the 1 PM deadline on Thursday.
That cost? Nearly $1 million.
FYI @ochocinco, that will be approximately $910,000 to buy the remaining #Bengals tickets w/out the usual service charges

Johnson's offer didn't go over too well with Bengals fans, who said they didn't need his goodwill.
Okay –> RT @Cincinnati_Chat: #WhoDey yea we'll be there. Thanks @ochocinco but the real fans got this 1, we don't need your ass here no mo

It seems @Cincinnati_chat has it taken care of now. RT @CBJAlex_lax: Any word on whether @ochocinco is going to buy tickets? @ColeyHarvey

No good deed goes unpunished, I guess.
