ESPN has re-signed Brad Daugherty, a former NBA All-Star and college basketball player, to serve as a basketball analyst covering both the NBA and college basketball beginning in November. Given his experience as an owner in the racing world, Daugherty served as an analyst for NASCAR on ESPN, appearing on programs such as NASCAR Countdown and NASCAR Now. ESPN now switches Daugherty over to a role which makes a lot of sense, placing him on NBA Tonight, NBA Coast to Coast and SportsCenter.

Daugherty’s move to basketball coverage is ideal considering his background as a five-time NBA All-Star and his eight seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also has an impressive college resume, playing for the University of North Carolina where he was a two-time All-ACC player.

This isn’t Daugherty’s first time covering basketball with ESPN as he spent time in the role between 1999 and 2001. Not too many people can switch from NASCAR to the NBA so seamlessly.
