Back in June, former Olympian and Fox Sports Radio host Amy Van Dyken-Rouen was involved in an ATV accident in which her spinal cord was severed. It was a very scary situation, but Van Dyken-Rouen kept a sense of humor about the situation and vowed to walk again, despite what seemed to be impossible circumstances.

This week, the impossible seemed possible as Van Dyken-Rouen stood on her own feet for the first time in two and a half months.

She then walked, albeit with the help of a walker and a pair of bionic legs.

This is awesome, but it’s just the first step of a long journey for Van Dyken-Rouen. However, considering how grim her prognosis was at first, this is huge.
