Video: Brent Musburger called Holly Rowe “smokin” tonight (Updated)

ESPN's Brent Musburger became a topic of national conversation when he got a little too excited over the presence of Katherine Webb during the BCS National Championship Game.  Brent's comments drew so much attention that ESPN apologized, saying the veteran went too far in admiring Webb's beauty.  For her part, Miss Alabama's newfound fame has taken her to the Today Show and the SI Swimsuit Issue.

Thus far, Musburger has declined to speak and answer his critics with regards to his comments about Webb.  That was until Monday night's Baylor-Kansas game when he signed off the air with this pipebomb…

"For Fran Fraschilla and Holly Rowe, who was really smokin' tonight, I want to say so long from Lawrence."

My Lord, that is an amazing moment in sports broadcasting history.  Only Musburger knows whether that was a giant middle finger to his critics, a joke to make light of the situation, brilliant reverse troll job, or the end of his announcing career.  For the first time in the history of this website, I'm utterly speechless.

UPDATE: ESPN has released a statement early Tuesday morning saying Musburger said "it" was really smokin…

That's certainly the cleanest way to wrap this up (as we've seen before in similar situations), but you can judge for yourself what Musburger actually said.  ESPN has had their say and the network is moving on.
