Near the end of the LSU-Alabama game on CBS, we had our first cutaway of Katherine Webb, who as we all know by now, is the girlfriend of Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron. And while Verne Lundquist did mention her sitting next to McCarron's mother, Dee Dee Bonner, he chose not to gush over Webb as his former colleague Brent Musburger did earlier this year.

It was quite funny as Gary Danielson tried to goad Uncle Verne with: "That's it? That's all your going to say?"

Verne responded: "You're darn right. I don't work for that four-letter network. Discretion. (laughter) 4th and 28."

Oh, that's hilarious. And yes, Verne and Brent did work at CBS together back in the 1980's. Hearing a playful shot taken at the competition is always fun and in fact, encouraged.

We await Brent Musburger's response.
