There were muliple explosions at the finish line of this year's Boston Marathon this afternoon.  The latest report from the Boston Globe is that there are 2 dead and over 100 injured although those numbers could still grow.

Several sportswriters were on the scene including Boston Globe sports editor Steve Silva, who captured video of the explosion.  (The Globe also published another video from the scene of the explosions on their YouTube channel.)  The Globe's Chad Finn also tweeted some horrifying details and ESPN's Bonnie Ford was on site as well.

It's an unspeakably terrible situation.  With it happening at the Boston Marathon, sports networks and affiliates broke into programming with breaking news and syndicated news feeds as well.  NBC Sports Network switched to local news coverage.  ESPN went with live coverage from Jeremy Schapp and Bob Ley anchoring, preempting Around the Horn and PTI.  All the news networks are also carrying continuing live coverage.

The story is certainly fluid as sports and news and real-life tragedy intersect.  Some news outlets worth following for more news as the story continues to develop:
