Last night during Toronto's 96-88 win over the Wizards in D.C, Raptors announcer Matt Devlin caused a bit of unnecessary drama. After Toronto's Rudy Gay made a three-pointer, he makes a call-me gesture to one of the fans. The fan, it turned out, was rapper Wale. Devlin assumes that Wale is heckling Gay, and says so, but it doesn't look like that to me AT ALL. Take a look at the video:

I see no heckling going on – do you? Devlin also called Wale a "local rapper," and noted, "he's no Drake." Neither of these things went over well with the "local rapper" (who has 2.7 million Twitter followers to Devlin's 10,000, since that obviously matters) which led to this great picture of Wale hanging out by the Raptors booth.

As if all that wasn't surreal enough, there's also video of Wale confronting Devlin in the Raptors booth…

Wale responded with a "watch ur mouth" Twitter message to Devlin, which has since been deleted from his Twitter page and afterwards, both individuals tried to downplay any confrontation at the broadcast booth, although it doesn't appear like Wale is exchanging pleasantries with Devlin on tape.

Devlin probably doesn't even know who Drake is, either, and just threw out the first name he could think of. Gay, for his part, tweeted
Again, I saw no heckling, which leads me to believe Devlin just needed something to talk about… and ended up feuding with a well known rap artist. Just another day in the life of announcing Toronto Raptors games I suppose.
