Speed fans are angry about Fox Sports 1 – Part III

speed

Fox Sports 1 has been in existence for one month and two days now, but Speed Channel fans are still angry with the new network.  That's right, it's time once again for one of our favorite recurring pieces – Speed fans are angry about Fox Sports 1!  Given FS1's ratings in the first month, perhaps these Speed fans are justified in wanting Dave Despain's return.  There's got to be a spot open for him somewhere on the Fox Sports Live panel, right?

You can see Part 1 and Part II at the links provided.  As always, these comments appear in their original, unedited state…

"I am new here, but when I found this place, I just had to sign up to add my voice about how irate I am that Speed Channel is gone, and it is just another sports channel now, with a bunch of content that I do not give a damn about. Like there are not enough channels where you can already see football 24/7. To me this is going to only serve to hurt NASCAR, as I already paid more for a higher tier with Dish, in order to get Speed, and for some strange reason both the next tier up and the tier below mine has Fuel, or now FS2, but not the tier I am on, and if I go to the next lower tier, where I can get FS2, which by the way today has all of the Cup practice and Nationwide qualifying, then I lose FS1, so basically to get all of NASCAR that I used to get between Speed and ESPN, I would now have to pay more a month to get both FS1 and FS2. it is just another way to steal more money from us consumers and it royally pisses me off." – samidean

"the reason America is a great country is because of change. What makes it the best country on the planet is admitting our mistakes. FX1 is an obvious mistake. Im sure this channel was created to further better the lives of Fox share holders. SPEED was what built America, cars. trucks. racing. DIY! shows. buying selling/auctions. Ive been patiently awaiting some good from FX1, its just not there. a huge mistake! please, bring back SPEED, u can even keep your crappy FX1 channel, just put channel 607 back on my receiver so Americans can feel like Americans again. am i the only one that feels like moving to Canada? ha, i hear SPEED still aires there. Fix this mistake FX1, i refuse to watch your programming, at least ESPN is original. l.o.l." – For Crying Out Loud

"Time to kick that dish to the curb. Stuff your ball sports up your ball smackin ass. Fox network SUCKS." – mojave1

"Got my bullshit lip service from fox sucks 1 on how they havent forgotten about the motorsports fan. All we can do is never watch this shit channel to kill their ratings.Watch espn if you need stick and ball sports. All we can hope is another channel like velocity, spike, discovery, history, etc. see a window of opportunity to step up the motorsports programming and increase their market share. PLEASE BOYCOTT FOX SUCKS 1" – ronhwright

"regis sucks the rest are trying to be E.S.P.N. dont get me wrong i like espn but im a race guy cars motorcycles if you want to play with your balls thats fine but do it some where else put speed back on tv we have enough espn and fox sports 1 is not even a good espn" – RichardHorton

"Bring back Dave Despain, you guys know him. He's the reporter that has a bunch of little yous setting out on the front of his desk, bobble heads..No more dirt track motocross or monster trucks. Why do we have you to punish us this way. We've already got Meat head in the White House screwing up every thing that's moral to real people. Honest people, where do you big cheese come from. Racing and dirt track racing are respected in places as good as apple pie and ice creme. Help a nice guy out and give me my SPEED channel back …. "- captaincaffiene

"I can't believe that FOX cant see the POWER that the SPEED channel has. I work in big industry and its all about the dollars. As I see it, the cascading impact to the vendors who carried SPEED and all the motorsports communities that were brought out to the public eye via SPEED are going to pay a big price for FOX pore handling of what I would like to say is really most likely one of the most loyal fan based channel out there. I own a custom 55 chevy and a hot rod mustang. I eat and breath cool car life style and SPEED is my drug of choice. FOX YOU F**KERS HAVE PLENTY OF MONEY… PUT THE SPEED CHANNEL BACK ON LINE!!! If there ever was a channel that truly had potential for advertising the SPEED CHANNEL had to be at the top…. WHAT A STUPID FINANCIAL F**K UP FOX MADE HERE!!! To hell with FOX!!! I was a fan of fox in many ways, but to think going against car enthusiast is a good move you have got to be F**KING NUTS!!! Thank you and good night…. A fellow car nut!!! LET''S GET OUR CHANNEL BACK!!!" – chevelle3304

"We have ESPN, 2, 3, why do we need 2 more of the same with Fox sports 1and 2. Speed give us car people something to watch. You replaced Barrett Jackcon with soccer. ESPN has that. You replaced Gearz with badminton or crap like that. How can a couple of people decide what millions of people love to watch. Hugh mistake." – 1HDRIDER
